Installing or updating the latest drivers for a video card

will help with the compatibility, reliability, and the performance of the video card. Also depending on your video card some manufacturers may also have firmware updates. There are several ways you can update your video card drivers

You can check Windows Update any time to see if it's found updated drivers for your hardware.You can download and update a driver using Device Manager. Here's How.

1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Security, and then, under System, clicking Device Manager. 2. In the list of hardware categories, find the device that you want to update, and then double-click the device name.

3. Click the Driver tab, click Update Driver, and then follow the instructions. (Administrator permission may be required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation).

If you know the manufacturer of your video card you can go to their website support and download the correct drivers, nowadays most manufacturers will perform an Online scan of your computers hardware to find the most current updated driver for your video cards model.
